That’s the exact term Regina’s Mayor used to described the re-scheduling of the municipal and school board election dates.
The Saskatchewan government announced the provincial election is slated to go October 26th, 2020, with the municipal and school board ones taking place on November 9th, 2020.
“SUMA has spoken in favour and SARM has spoken in favour, as well,” said Michael Fougere. “Muncipalities, generally speaking, find it ok. For the spectrum of Regina, we’re fine with that.”
With the dates of the two elections being so close together, Fougere said they’ll have to be tactical in their communication strategy to avoid confusion with the provincial election.
And that’s something he acknowledges is going to be hard.
