A fire damaged grain dryer at North West Terminal in Unity is slated for repairs next spring.
A blaze on October 11th put the high capacity dryer out of commission during a cold, wet harvest.
NWT General Manager Jason Skinner said they are working with the manufacturer to make some new parts and get them assembled.
The target period for repairs is May or June when grain deliveries are a bit slower. Skinner said there will be room to bring in a crane to do the repairs.
A temporary grain dryer is now operating, but it only has about 20 percent of the capacity of the damaged dryer.
Fortunately, the weather improved shortly after the fire which eased the immediate urgency for grain drying capacity.
