Before it arrives in Alberta for the 2019 Canada Winter Games, the Roly McLenahan torch made a stop in Regina.
The Queen City’s one of nearly 50 communities the torch is passing through during it’s first ever cross country journey, one that ends in Red Deer, who’ll be hosting the games.

Mayor Michael Fougere brought the torch into the Fieldhouse and he said it’s good to have it back.
“The torch relay going through our city, on a day like today with so many important people who are part of the process is really a great honour.
Some notable athletes were present at Tuesday’s event, including Saskatoon native and Olympian, Catriona Le May Doan, who called going to the games the pinnacle of her career.
“Now being an alumnae and being on the board of Canada Games council and of 2019, it’s such an honour to back in my home province and see the Canada Games torch go across the country and have a great celebration in Regina.”
