Today (Nov 7th) is day one of the Children’s Hospital Radiothon presented by CIBC Wood Gundy live from Hill Tower II downtown Regina. This is a tradition that dates back 16 years in southern Saskatchewan and over the years it has a raised 4.8 million dollars which has helped get the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital off the ground.
Thanks to generous listeners like yourself, the Children’s hospital in Saskatoon is set to open for the first time in 2019. This year 620 CKRM, MY 92.1, and the Wolf 104.9 will be raising funds to help equip surgical spaces and trauma spaces in the hospital. So far we’ve heard some incredible stories from families who have had to seek medical treatment for their kids outside of the province. Many of the kids are still battling their health issues today and some, sadly, did not make it. One never hopes their child gets sick, but if it happens it’s nice to know top notch medical help is close to home and near family.
