Things look like they’re finally starting to come together for the Regina Pats.
A hat trick from Jake Leschyshyn, as well as four apples from Nick Henry were huge catalysts in leading the team to a 5-1 victory over the Tri City Americans at the Brandt Centre last night.
The scoring began early, when Austin Pratt buried his ninth on the year just 30 seconds in. Leschyshyn answered two minutes later with his 10th.
The Pats continued to strike in the second, as Marco Creta and Leschyshyn each added markers to make 4-0 before Tri-City finally responded with one.
In the third, Leschyshyn buried his third on the night, sealing the Pats the win.
Regina netminder Max Paddock made 39 saves, something which goalie coach Rob Muntain said inspired the team in front of him.
“The stuff that he did was sensational. I thought it really wore off on the rest of the team, especially in that third period. You could just see that urgency level.”
Pats play again on Saturday night when they take on the Swift Current Broncos. This will be the final game of the team’s five game homestand. Puck drop is at 7, our pre-game show begins at 6:35 pm on your home for Regina Pats hockey, 620 CKRM.
