She may never ever test out the links at the Wascana Country Club again, but Brooke Henderson is being honoured by them
Wascana Golf Club CEO Greg Dukart says Henderson, who won the CP Canadian Womens Open this summer at the Wascana, is getting an honorary life membership from them.
In a release, Dukart says the membership recognizes what not only one was of the greatest sporting accomplishments in Canadian golf history, but Canadian sports history.
Henderson thrilled the massive crowds that turned out for the CP Canadian Womens Open capping it off with a victory to make her the first Canadian to win the event since 1973.
The 21-year-old from Smiths Falls, Ontario went into this weekend’s CME Group Tour Championship in Florida with two victories on the LPGA Tour and eight top-10 finishes. She went into the weekend as the world’s 9th ranked female golfer and is 4th on the money list having taken home over $1.4 million US.
