Could the National Hockey League hold an outdoor game at Mosaic Stadium? It is something they are apparently looking at as that is what Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on the weekend during Hockey Night in Canada.
Paula Kohl with Evraz Place says conversations are being had, but she admits weather does play an issue when it comes to when such a game could be held if one is to occur.
“Discussions certainly would involve the weather as everyone knows it is cold here in the winter.” Kohl said. “I haven’t been privy to conversations that have taken place, but I would almost bet on weather and time of year are a part of what is being said.”
The Regina Pats were going to have two outdoor games last February as part of their 100th Anniversary celebrations, but they were moved inside because of weather concerns and low ticket sales.
