Marco Creta, Nick Henry and Riley Krane all scored for the Regina Pats, who earned their first victory on their six game road trip with a 3-2 win in Kamloops Tuesday night.
Max Paddock made 33 saves for his sixth win of the season.
Pats Assistant Coach Brad Herauf, said he felt they took over the game midway through the second period.
“That’s exactly what we talked about, just wait until our game got established, which I feel like we did in the first period, but in the second half of the second period it really started to come, I think we really started to take over the game and that’s what we were hanging on for,” Herauf said Tuesday after the win.
Herauf was also pleased to see scoring coming from more unlikely places than the usual suspects.
“We need all 20 guys chipping in every night, obviously Jake, (Leschyshyn) Nick (Henry) and Austin (Pratt) are a huge line for us and Aaron Hymen is big on the back end collecting points, but anytime we can get more help it’s going to help us win,” Herauf said.
The Pats (8-15-0-0) will be in Kelowna Wednesday night for a date with the Rockets (9-13-1-0).
You can hear that game on 620 CKRM at 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.
