Canadian Western Agribition draws many visitors from far and wide, but also many presenters.
One group, Iron Hill Simmental’s, come from Metcalfe, Ontario brought their prized bull to the show for the first time this year.
Chaira Farina from Iron Hill said they got in by winning a couple of big-name fairs.
“We came to Agribition because our bull got grand champion at two fairs, so Victoriaville and the Royal,” Chaira said. “The only reason why we are here is because he qualified for the supreme class. He basically got a free ticket to come to Agribition.”
Farina from Iron Hill said their first Agribition has been a unique experience.
“It’s our first year being at Agribition and we are very well greeted with the Saskatchewan people over here. Very different from Ottawa,” Chaira said. “People talk different, people act different, and it’s a good experience. ”
Claudia said the support they’ve received along the way has been phenomenal.
“We’re not well equipped because it was a last minute trip for us,” Claudia said. “Our barn boss has been more then helpful. Anything that we have needed, he has absolutely helped us with everything.”
Canadian Western Agribition continues until Saturday at Evraz place.
