The Regina Police Service recognizes the city they serve and protect is a growing and ever diversifying one.
That’s why the force put out a call for people who can interpret other languages into English.
“Often there’s a language barrier and with something like an investigation, communication is the key,” said spokesperson Leslie Parker.
Some of the languages police need help with include Arabic, Cantonese, Farsi, Karen and Ukrainian. A full list can be found by clicking the link here.
Parker said they’re looking for fluent interpreters.
“Languages can have nuances that even simple technology can’t help us with. We need someone who has all the nuances.”
