Regina Police is expanding its search for missing 19-year-old Promise Chukwudum.
Home owners are now being asked to search their yards, sheds, other outbuildings, or any unused or abandoned vehicles including RV’s and campers. Police are also asking you to check along fences, under decks and shrubbery and open areas.
Chukwudum is described as approximately 5’ 11” tall, weighing 240 pounds with a medium build and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, light colored sweatpants, and a dark-colored toque. The 19-year-old, who also goes by Max, was last seen in the area of Marshall Crescent in Regina early November 17.
Police are considering that Chukwudum left a home on Marshall Crescent, on foot, and may have entered a building or some other structure to shelter from the cold. Temperatures on the night of November 17th dropped to the mid-minus-twenties. Police are urging home and property owners to carry out this visual inspection of their properties before we get another snowfall, which would cover any potential evidence and hamper search efforts.
Regina Police add that it is also possible someone may have offered Chukwudum a ride. Officers say he is a university student in Regina on a student visa and would have limited familiarity with Regina. He has friends here, but no family members in the city.
Officers say they are focusing efforts on the Transcona and Whitmore Park areas at this point.
Anyone with information is asked to call Regina Police at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
