Two women are facing multiple charges after a police chase.
Craik RCMP say as officers were attending a vehicle stop on Highway 11 near Girvin, a stolen vehicle swerved towards a police SUV and about 130 kilometres an hour, narrowly missing it and the officer on Sunday.
RCMP from other detachments slowed the vehicle with a spike belt near Findlater. Three tires of the suspect vehicle were deflated which slowed it to approximately 10 kilometres per hour. The suspect vehicle then struck the rear end of a White Butte RCMP police vehicle at low speed bringing the pursuit to a stop near Lumsden.
24-year-old Menyll Ochuschayoo from Meadow Lake is facing 5 charges including:
- assault with a weapon
- two counts of fleeing from police
- possession of property over $5,000
- possession of property under $5,000
23-year-old Shanee Axelson from Regina is being charged with 6 charges including:
- possession of stolen property over $5,000
- five counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000
Both women were held custody and will appeared in provincial court in Moose Jaw on Tuesday.
