Our party is December 8th at Mosaic Stadium and it sounds like everyone is looking forward to it. I don’t attend out Christmas party. I can’t even recall the last one I went to. It’s not that I’m anti-social or don’t like the people I work with, it’s just that I’ve never been in to work Christmas parties. I can’t remember having a boss that ever had a problem with it. My boss in Calgary once told me, “I don’t care whether you go to the party or not. All I care about is that you do the job I pay you to do.” I couldn’t have said it better myself.
I must admit, I always look forward to hearing about the party the following Monday morning. I want to know all the juicy details. Who got drunk and told the boss off, who wiped out on the dance floor, who decided to throw up that delicious supper all over a co-worker.
Unfortunately for me, our group is a pretty well behaved one. I never hear any bad gossip, and good gossip is, well, quite boring.
So, before you make your way to your Christmas party, remember the old saying. “What happens at the Christmas party, doesn’t stay at the Christmas party.”
