Families of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash victims will be receiving donation money soon.
A Saskatchewan judge has approved a committee’s recommendation on how to distribute $15.2-million raised in a GoFundMe campaign after the Humboldt Broncos bus crash.
Justice Neil Gabrielson says families who lost a loved one should receive a $525,000 payout and that each of the surviving players should receive $475,000.
Gabrielson says it’s a rare occasion that from great tragedy comes great generosity.
On April 6th, 16 members of the Broncos were killed, and another 13 were injured when the team bus collided with a tractor trailer unit on their way to a playoff game in Nipawin.
