Regina’s Holiday Night Market is coming back this year, but in a new location.
The Farmer’s Market says last year’s holiday night was so successful , that this year there will be two nights set up, one Thursday and another on December 13th. Operations Manager Holly Laird says the original location fell through late last week, but the City of Regina stepped in and let the market use the Core Ritchie Neighbourhood Centre. “The City of Regina is absolutely a great supporter of ours and it feels great to have them in our court. They have done a lot of work to make sure that we can have the events.” Laird adds that “they are very special for our markets and our vendors so we are very grateful for the City of Regina.”
This year’s market will feature about 50 local vendors. “Everybody who sets up at our market either has products that are made, baked, grown or designed right here in Saskatchewan. So they are local makers. We have food, we have crafts and all sorts of wonderful things but they are all made right here in Saskatchewan.”
Laid says some new things this year include:
- a licensed area where you can enjoy samples from craft breweries, wineries and distilleries
- live music
- a children’s shopping area featuring gift options for $6 or less, volunteer elves to help kids shop and wrap presents
The Holiday Night Market will be open Thursday and December 13th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.
