Early mornings and home by the afternoon, sometimes flippin’ on T.V. is just a great way to unwind. Favorite background show – time waster is: SpongeBob SquarePants! Not always have I been a big fan, but it does grow on you. So, I’ll acknowledge it was sad news when creator of SpongeBob, Stephen Hillenburg passed away. Did you know Hillenburg had studied as a marine biologist? As a high school student he was a fry cook and lobster boiler! How can you not love a guy that takes life experiences then turns it all into life at the bottom of the sea! A sea that is basically a license to print money! Although 57 is too young and dying from ALS is cruel exit.
A missed opportunity when SpongeBob was here for the Roughriders’ TSN Family Day, I had hoped for a photo op! (I know he’s not real!) We don’t always get what we want!
What do you hang your hat on; your sense of style, humour, what you drive, community involvement or are you concerned at all about uniqueness.
Stephen Hillenburg took his artistic talent, matched it with his interest in the ocean and used his own life skills to create the wildly popular character. And the rest is history.
Mrs Puff, Squidward Q. Tentacles, Patrick, Sandy, Mr Krabs, Plankton. Who can forget these underwater friends and foes that go through life under the sea. The situations that our little friends get into mirror our own dreams and often short comings. But in true SpongeBob fashion things always work out.
