A 29-year-old Regina man is facing impaired driving charges after crashing a vehicle into the Department of National Defense Armoury early Sunday morning.
Police were called to the scene on the 1600 block of Elphinstone Street, shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning, where they found the man passed out inside a black van that had collided into the armoury’s north side at a high rate of speed.
The man had to be cut out of the vehicle before emergency medical care could be administered.
Investigations revealed the driver was extremely intoxicated at the time of the crash and was also bound by court orders not to be drinking or using drugs.
Twenty-nine-year-old Timothy Wesaquate was charged with impaired driving and breach, he will make his first court appearance in January after being released on an Officer Undertaking.
