In the new era of donations, most people would rather go on line. You’ve done it, bought lottery tickets on line, sent money to a Go-Fund-Me page and probably done Tele Miracle. Today we found out that the Salvation Army Kettle Appeal has taken a jump into the debt card world.
How easy is this going to make it for the Kettle Campaign. You are strolling through the mall, leaving the liquor store or packing off to the car with your groceries, now when you come across those folks attending to the kettles you have the option, in a lots of cases to just tap and go. You decide how much you want to donate. And if you are interested in getting a receipt, well you can still send a cheque or go onto a virtual kettle. Everything is on line these days!
The tap feature should help our Regina Salvation Army realize the goal of $200,000 for this year. The money helps build the hampers that are sent out at Christmas time. The money puts food and toys into the hands of families in need.
If your work place or service group, a group of friends or any organization would like to assist, there are still shifts available to attend to a kettle. If you feel that getting friends to donate on line works best, than you should check out the virtual kettle – it makes reaching out across the country to friends and family so easy.
