In the legislature Thursday NDP leader Ryan Meili pushed for new economic policies to create jobs in Saskatchewan.
Meili says the province should introduce a renewable energy project for Saskatchewan homeowners and remove the PST on construction labor.
He says the province has fewer housing starts, lower job numbers, fewer building permits and more people walking away from their mortgages because of government austerity.
Trade minister Jeremy Harrison says the SaskParty has the second best record in Canada for job creation, with over 60 thousand new jobs since 2007.
Harrison says the NDP policy is to raise taxes, support a carbon tax and oppose pipelines, creating fewer jobs.
Thursday is the final day of the fall session of the Saskatchewan legislature.
