As the holidays draws closer, police are reminding you of a few things.
Regina Police are reminding you to lock your vehicles and to take your keys with you when you’re done driving. Police say from November 27th to December 4th there have been 80 reports of theft from vehicles. Officers add that the most common items being stolen include laptops, wallets, gym bags, tools and garage door openers. RPS says once someone can access your garage, it becomes a break an enter investigation and thieves can access your house.
Police say there has also been 46 reports of stolen vehicles in that same time frame. Of those 46, 50 per cent were reported to be running with the keys or unlocked with the keys in the vehicle.
RPS says you can help yourself not become a victim of crime by locking or loosing it. If you see any suspicious activity around any vehicle you are asked to call police.
