Former Saskatchewan Roughrider Justin Cox has been sentenced to 11 months behind bars.
Cox plead guilty to a charge of assault earlier this year.
In August of 2017, Cox assaulted his former girlfriend in the parking lot of the Normanview Mall before driving to the site of Taylor Field where she eventually got away, but not before receiving a broken nose and several bruises.
Cox was sentenced to nine months on an assault charges and an additional three months for breaching conditions of his release. With time served, Cox will spend 330 days in prison.
Cox still has two other assault cases that are still before the courts.
