The search continues for a Swift Current man who hasn’t been seen since a truck it is believed he was driving ended up in Swift Current Creek last month.
Swift Current RCMP say the disappearance of 26-year-old Colton Koop is being treated as a missing person investigation and that he is not subject to any criminal investigation or charges at this time.
On November 16, RCMP received a report of a 2014 Dodge truck partially submerged in the creek with the driver nowhere to be found. An investigation determined the truck had left the road, crashed through a guardrail and ended up in the water. The registered owner of the truck said he was not driving it at the time and said Koop would have been the one likely driving the vehicle as he would have had access to it.
RCMP are asking people in the area to search their yards and buildings for anything that may look unusual.
While a search of the creek by dive teams turned up nothing, the underwater recovery team is heading back to the area today to conduct what they call an “ice dive underwater” to see if anything can be found.
