The Riders continue to make news as we get closer to Christmas, but the Christmas wish of Rider Nation which is to learn who will be the team’s quarterback in 2019 has still not been answered.
One day after announcing Regina product Zack Evans had avoided free agency by signing the defensive lineman to a four-year contract extension, the team announced another potential free agent had re-signed as defensive back Loucheiz Purifoy inked a one-year extension.
In his first season with the green-and-white , the 25-year-old played in 10 games and collected 27 defensive tackles, four special teams tackles and three interceptions.
Before joining Saskatchewan, the 5-foot-11, 190-pounder spent the beginning of the 2018 season with the Ottawa REDBLACKS. He also spent two years with the B.C Lions.
The team also announced they have traded fullback Spencer Moore to the Montreal Alouettes for a conditional 8th round draft pick in 2020.
Moore had spent his entire CFL career with the Riders since being drafted by them in the 5th round of the 2013 CFL draft.
