First off a great big thank you to everybody who have dropped off food and treats! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I believe we have the best listeners and clients of any radio station in the province thanks in part to their wonderful personalities and giving nature. Since I’m going on holidays I thought it would be best to go to the doctor for a quick checkup and turns out I have little to no blood. None! I just have veins of sugar. What little blood I do have has tested positive for fudge.
I don’t expect to be overly active on Facebook and other social media platforms over the Christmas break, however it will be nice to see fellow Facebook friends pictures of Christmas, family, and food. It’ll be a nice change from the VERY tiresome political memes of both sides, incorrect quotes from former world leaders and philosophers, and so on, that one tends to see on a regular basis on Facebook. At this pace, if I keep unfollowing friends due to excessive political posts I’ll literally be down to just cookie recipes and fake(or hacked) friend requests. Let’s take a break on politics until at least the 27th of December!
This is the time of year when one can expect big news from friends and family. Usually there is a spike in engagements around this time of year and why not? When one is surrounded by family, friends, and a picturesque festive night it makes for a great backdrop for a big question.
Sometimes baby announcements happen around this time as well. Congrats to all those new and expecting parents in Saskatchewan (or wherever you happen to be reading this from). For those who are expecting, I’m sure the difficult discussion of a name for the baby has started. Perhaps I can help. According to Baby Centre, the top 3 names for girls are: 3) Ivy, 2) Mia, and 1) Ava. For boys, the top 3 went like this: 3) Noah, 2) Jackson, and 1) Liam. For the record, the name “Cody” didn’t crack the top 25 or even the top 100. Ouch! Apparently is was soooo 1986.
Travel safe where ever you’re going this holiday season and I hope you enjoy your time with your loved ones and friends over the next few days. Merry Christmas, Seasons Greetings, Happy Holidays, Feliz Naividad, Joyeux Noel, and Happy New Year.
