This past year was great for growth and investment in the queen city.
Regina Downtown said that in 2018, they saw constant increases in everything it did, with both recreation and business.
Visitor Services Manager Lindsay Des Rochers notes this includes new businesses opening up.
“We had eight restaurants or food places, we had eight retails stores open up,” she said. “We had a really big increase in that kind of investment in downtown, which we’re really, really excited about.”
Des Rochers further said this is great for the city, in part because it attracts more traffic to the downtown core. because it’s bringing more people to the downtown core.
The organization is hoping to keep this momentum up heading into the new year.
