“Having lived in Toronto and Vancouver, there’s kind of an opinion of Saskatchewan that’s kind of whitewashed and one dimensional,” he said. “But, I want to show there’s a vast majority of all different kinds of people here.”
Among those communities Buchanan is looking forward to immersing himself and learning from are the province’s Indigenous and LGBTQ communities, something he called what he mainly attracted him to this position.
Buchanan also has a journalism background, which he believes will serve him well during his travels.
“I really want to bring more traction to the blogging. I just think that there’s certain stories that can be best broadcasted through literary word.”
