Playing the lottery in December worked out well for two Saskatchewan men.
Travis Brady of Regina and Jeffrey Wiens of Herschel each won one million dollars playing Lotto Max and Lotto 6-49 in December.
Brady, who bought his ticket at the Sherwood Co-Op store on Prince of Wales Drive, says he did not check his tickets immediately and had a bunch sitting in his truck. When he went back to the store a few weeks later, he put the tickets through the lottery checker and found out he was a big winner on Lotto Max
Brady says he will use the windfall to pay off his mortgage.
Wiens won his money on the December 22nd 6/49 draw. He says while treating himself to “something special”, he will also likely pay off his bills and that of his father’s.
Meanwhile, someone in Saskatchewan is holding on to a one million dollar ticket, but time is running out to cash it in.
Saskatchewan Lotteries says a ticket from the February 14th, 2018 guaranteed prize draw has gone unclaimed. The person who has the ticket has one calendar year to bring the ticket in for verification.
