With 2019 upon us, Saskatchewan RCMP are giving us a glimpse as to some of the rather odd 9-1-1 calls placed to them last year by providing a top ten on their Twitter feed.
Some of those top ten include someone who called 9-1-1 to let the communications centre that her Thanksgiving Turkey had been stolen, another call was made to report a vehicle was parked in a handicap space with another phoning 9-1-1 to complain that their fast food delivery order was taking longer than it should have been.
RCMP do remind everyone that 9-1-1 is for emergencies only and that your local police service or RCMP detachment are the ones to call in non-emergency situations.
Another year has come to an end. Our Divisional Operations Communications Centre had a busy 2018 taking calls… some of which seemed to “miss the mark”. Here is a list of the Top 10: ^mm pic.twitter.com/tPjTXEv5E4
