Taylor Keast has become the first woman to ever suit up in a Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League game.
The 17-year-old served as the backup goalie for the La Ronge Ice Wolves on Friday night.

Keast, who plays for a midget team in La Ronge, was summoned to the Ice Wolves after the team traded one goaltender at the Junior “A” trade deadline and acquired another, but that goalie acquired could not get to La Ronge in time for their game against Kindersley.
Keast told Ice Wolves play-by-play man Braden Malsbury that growing up she wanted to play for the team so while she didn’t get in the game, it was fun and a great experience.
