Fajardo will be Riders starting QB in Ottawa

Saskatchewan Roughriders Head Coach Craig Dickenson says it was his plan all along to start Cody Fajardo at quarterback Thursday in Ottawa, but they didn’t want to announce that right away.

Fajardo was called into service just three plays into the season opener when Zach Collaros was knocked out of the game after a head-shot from Hamilton’s Simoni Lawrence.

While Fajardo will start, Dickenson says the plan to have rookie Isaac Harker get playing time has not changed, but he did not say when Harker will come in and how long he will play.

The team left for Ottawa Tuesday afternoon.   They will hold a short practice at TD Place on Wednesday before looking for their first win of the year in a 5:30 start Thursday afternoon with our pre-game show starting at 2:30.
