Farm Progress Show in Regina described as a major success

Officials are saying last week’s Canada Farm Progress show in Regina was a major success.

Manager Shirley Janeczko says the rain improved farm attendance.

In addition to domestic sales, she says the International Business Centre saw an estimated 357 million dollars in sales during the 3-day show.

Janeczko says the show attracted over 700 international visitors from 54 nations.

For next year, the show moves to a Tuesday through Thursday format instead of Wednesday through Friday.

The new format enables exhibitors an additional day to move out prior to the weekend.

The opening day hours are also changed to 11 am to 7 pm to allow farmers to deal with their crops and livestock before coming to the show.
