Fans that took in Friday night’s Western Canadian Baseball League game between the hometown Weyburn Beavers and Edmonton Prospects saw something special.

Beavers pitcher Christian Vick threw a no-hitter in a 12-0 win.

The righthander, who pitches for Southeast Missouri State, was dominant on the hill as he walked no one and struck out 14 in a 114 pitch masterpiece as Weyburn improved their league-leading record to 18-4.

For the season, Vick is now 4-0 with an ERA of 2.70
