Agriculture ministers agree to look at enhancing agristability support program

Farm support programs could see some enhancements in the coming year.

Agriculture ministers from across the country wrapped up their annual meeting Friday in Quebec City.

Saskatchewan agriculture minister David Marit says he was pushing for some enhancements to agristability.

Marit says his counterparts agreed to look at the proposals.

Marit sees some minor improvements to agristability by changes to eligible farm expenses and possible private insurance sector involvement.

Marit says an agriculture ministers meeting will be held this fall to look at enhancing agristability for 2020.
