Two Regina men charged with attempted murder

The Regina Police Service has laid charges on two men connected to a firearms offence from May 9, 2019.

25-year-old James Wilkinson of Regina has been charged with attempted murder, and 22-year-old Sharmarke Dahir Ali of Regina has been charged with attempted murder using a restricted/prohibited firearm.

The incident took place early on May 9th at around 2:35 a.m. when police were dispatched to the 3200 block of Harding Street.

Officers received a report of a disturbance where loud banging sounds were heard in the southeastern neighbourhood of Wood Meadows in Regina.

Police arrived to find a man in a vehicle with gunshot wounds. He was transported by EMS to hospital.

Ali made his first appearance at Provincial Court at 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Wilkinson attended Provincial Court Friday morning at 9:00 a.m.
