Four time Stanley Cup champion and Regina native Chris Kunitz announces retirement from NHL

Four time Stanley Cup champion and Regina native, Chris Kunitz has decided to hang up his skates.

The 39-year-old who spent 15 seasons in the NHL will now take on a role with the Chicago Blackhawks as a player development adviser.

Kunitz recorded 619 points in 1,022 regular season games, and won the Stanley Cup with Anaheim in 2007, and with Pittsburgh in 2009, 2016 and 2017.

He also won an Olympic Gold medal with Canada in 2014.
