Combines are expecting to be rolling in the southeast part of the province in a week to ten days.
The regional crop specialist in Weyburn, Sherri Roberts, says some wheat fields are starting to turn colour and combines are being prepared for the harvest rush.
Last year, she says farmers were harvesting on August first, and many fields were planted earlier this year than last year.
She projects farmers will be combining crops in a week to 10 days in some areas.
Roberts says crops are looking fantastic in the southeast but there are some disease issues.
She expects an average to above average crop in the southeast.
