Regina teens facing charges following impaired hit-and-run incident

Two teenage girls from Regina have been arrested and charged following an incident early Thursday morning.

Between 4:20 a.m. and 5:42 a.m., police learned that a grey Ford F-150 truck was involved in two separate traffic infractions.

The first was a hit and run collision at Dewdney Avenue and Robinson Street that saw two individuals transported to hospital, and a minor property damage collision at Broadway Avenue and Broad Street.

The girls occupying the truck were seen exiting following the incident at Broad Street and Broadway Avenue, and were later detained by witnesses until police arrived at the scene.

A 13-year-old girl has been charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000;
  • Impaired operation of a conveyance by alcohol or drug or a combination;
  • Exceeding 80mg of alcohol within 2 hours of operating a conveyance;
  • Operating conveyance dangerous to public;
  • Two counts of dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm; and
  • Two counts of failure to stop after an accident that results in bodily harm.

A 14-year-old girl has been charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000; and
  • Fail to comply with undertaking.

Their names cannot be released due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

They made their first appearances in Youth Provincial Court Thursday afternoon.
