RCMP say one person is dead after a head on collision between two vehicles Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to the scene on Highway 2, about 30 Kilometers south of La Ronge just after 1:00 p.m.

A car was travelling north when it collided with a semi truck heading the opposite direction.

There was one occupant in the car who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver and lone occupant of the semi was not injured, the semi truck was empty at the time.

RCMP say the identity of the deceased will be confirmed after an autopsy, however they do not anticipate releasing the persons name.
