Sask harvest reaches 2 percent

The latest crop report says Saskatchewan farmers have 2 percent of the crop in the bin.

Provincial crops analyst Cory Jacob says harvest ranges from 3 percent in the south to less than 1 percent in the northern grainbelt.

He says combining is behind the five year average of 9 percent for this date.

Jacob says the majority of crop damage this week was from strong winds and a lack of moisture.

He says there was some light frost this week and there may be some crop loss.

Last Mountain Lake and North Battleford had half a degree of frost early Sunday, while the temperature dipped to zero point 7 in Saskatoon and plus 2 in Regina.

Rainfall ranged from a trace to 27 millimeters in the southwest near Shaunavon.
