Large hail and rain were part of a stormy Thursday in Saskatchewan

Environment Canada Meteorologist Shannon Moodie, says the line of storms that went through Saskatchewan on Thursday brought pea and quarter sized hail to the Tugaske area and golf ball sized hail at Parkbeg.

She said the storms were moving quite slowly, so they do expect there were areas of localized flooding.

“The highest amount of rainfall I saw was in Last Mountain at 32.4 mm’s and that was over about four hours,” Moodie said.

Watrous had 31.2 millimeters of rain.

Saskatoon recorded 9.4 millimeters and Regina 5.4 millimeters, however more rain may have fallen in the city’s east end where there is not a recording station.

Moodie says there’s another chance of active weather on Friday, mainly in southeastern Saskatchewan.
