A 43-year-old woman is facing charges after a fatal accident involving a pedestrian on the Piapot First Nation Saturday afternoon.
Southey RCMP were called to the scene around 2:20 p.m. where the woman told officers she had struck a 33-year-old man with her vehicle.
The man was transported to hospital by STARS Air Ambulance, but was pronounced deceased upon arrival.
As result, 43-year-old Leah Nicole Pratt from the Piapot First Nation, has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and criminal negligence causing death.
Pratt was remanded in custody and will make her first court appearance Monday morning at 9:30 a.m..
The victim’s name was not released.
