Funnel cloud seen near Lumsden

The end of the Labour Day long weekend saw a tornado warning in effect for the RM of Lumsden and RM of Balgonie including the towns of Lumsden, Balgonie, Regina Beach and Craven for a short while late Monday afternoon stretching into the early evening.

Environment issued the warning just after 5:30 saying the storm could produce quarter-sized hail and winds approaching 100 kilometers an hour, but while a funnel cloud was spotted near Lumsden, it is believed it did not touch down.  Severe thunderstorm watches and warnings were also out for an area of southeast Saskatchewan.

The forecast is calling for a high Tuesday to be in the high teens before rising into the low and mid 20’s for the remainder of the week.
