RPS charge four people vehicle and identity theft

Three men and one youth girl are facing charges after a weekend vehicle theft.

The Regina Police Service says on August 31st, officers received information of a man eho entered the back door of a house on the 2200 block of McAra Street.

It is believed the man had taken cash and car keys from the house and took a 2018 GMC Terrain from the property.

At about 2:00pm that afternoon, police found the vehicle with five people inside.

Four were arrested, one in connection to the theft and possession of the car, another was found in possession of a weapon, and two were charged with possession of identity documents. A fifth person was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

Police say 29 year old T’na Htoo is facing five charges, 31 yer old Justin Walchuck is facing two charges and 35 year old Thomas Stevenson is facing two charges.

RPS says a 16 year old girl, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act is facing a charge of possession of identity documants.

Htoo appeared in court on Tuesday. Walchuck and Stevenson will appear in court on October 10th and the 16 year old girl will appear in youth court on October 10th.
