Woman injured in weekend home invasion

A woman was injured during a home invasion over the weekend.

The Regina Police Service were called to a home on the 1200 block of Queen Street at about 11:00pm on Monday.

Investigation indicates a man entered a house, assaulted a woman inside and demanded money and medication from the two residents, a 59 year old man and 49 year old woman.

The woman was injured and treated by EMS.

The suspect is described as a young-adult man, about five foot five, approximately 125 pounds, slim build, dressed in black, wearing glasses and a covering over his face.

Police say the suspect was armed with a large bladed weapon and what appeared to be a firearm.

The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money, medication and personal items.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
