Steinley and Tochor resigned as Saskatchewan Party MLA’s

In a move that isn’t surprising, two Saskatchewan Party MLA’s have resigned their seats.

Regina Walsh Acres MLA Warren Steinley and Saskatoon Eastview MLA Corey Tochor both officially submitted their resignation to the Speaker Wednesday morning.

Both are running for federal seats in the October 21st vote as Conservative candidates.

Saskatchewan NDP leader Ryan Meili had said the two should have resigned months ago so by-elections could be called.

Without a by-election, it means the seats will be vacant until the 2020 provincial election with voters in the two ridings now not having a voice until election day.
