Emergency respondents were called to five separate overdoses in Saskatoon this past weekend.

In fact police in the city say all were in a 30 hour time frame between Friday and Saturday.

One person died, with officers adding four of the overdoses were due to illicit drug use.

The public is being warned that taking any drug not prescribed by a doctor or dispensed by a pharmacist poses a serious health risk.
