Lewvan Drive project nearing completion

Construction season is almost near an end in Regina, and one major project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the week.
Lewvan Drive has been worked on since May 13, and also saw the first use of the interchangeable middle lane in a Regina construction zone.
The city’s Chris Warren said over the next four days, crews will be paving through 7th avenue and Dewdney avenue intersections.
“In order to maintain the through traffic at Lewvan Drive, east and west traffic at 7th Avenue intersection and at Dewdney Avenue will be closed intermittently to maintain the safe passage of our residents through the work zone, as well as ensure the optimum quality of our paving process.”
Warren said this should be the final stage of the project.
“Weather permitting, we are expecting to be completed Lewvan on Saturday and hopefully have it open and ready for the start of the work week next week.”
Warren said the Lewvan Drive project costed the city $2.9 million.  He adds the city understands this may be inconvenient, but it does thank residents for their patience.
