Regina man charged in head-on collision Saturday on Ring Road

Police have charged a man who was involved in a motor vehicle collision between a semi truck and pickup truck on Saturday in Regina.

31-year-old Kraig Skoye of Regina has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm after the head-on crash between the two vehicles.

Skoye, who was driving the pickup, suffered serious injuries in the accident. The driver of the semi, a 38-year-old man from Calgary, was also taken to hospital with injuries.

Skoye was released on a JP Undertaking to appear in provincial court at 9:30 a.m. on October 8.

Officers were dispatched to the scene at 2:55 a.m. on Saturday to the westbound lanes of Ring Road between Albert Street and Wascana Parkway.

The initial investigation indicated the driver of the pickup truck was driving the wrong way on the westbound lanes of Ring Road prior to the accident.

Regina Police conducted an investigation on Saturday morning with the assistance of collision reconstructionists, which led to alcohol-related charges against Skoye.

Ring Road wasn’t fully opened until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
