I was watching the weather forecast on TV last night and noticed this weekend the projected highs could be in the single digits with the possibility of flurries. Well, if that’s not a sign that fall has arrived, then I don’t know what is. I’m not too worried about that yet. We should be at 16 for an average high around this time of year, so I’m sure we still have a lot of good weather on the way.

It did get me thinking that it won’t be long before I’m packing up the back yard and putting it away in the shed for another winter.

I always hate doing that. I’m not a fan of winter at all. After a summer of looking out over the back yard from the kitchen window and seeing the bird bath, the patio furniture, the flowers, and everything else that brings a yard to life, I find it so depressing to look out over a yard covered in cold snow. That very same yard looks so desolate from November to April.

Oh well, no use worrying about winter just yet, it’ll get here when it gets here.

In the meantime, the bird bath is still out, the patio furniture is still getting used, and I’m sure my lawn mower will still need another tank of gas.
