Bear spray incident at Saskatoon shopping mall

Saskatoon’s Midtown Plaza was the sight of a bear spray incident on Tuesday morning.

Police say they were sent to the downtown shopping centre around 11:30 after receiving a report of a man deploying bear spray on the mall’s second floor.

Mall security had detained a 17-year-old boy when police arrived with a release stating there had been an altercation between the teenager and a 20-year-old victim. The accused allegedly tried to hit security guards with bear spray as well but was unable too,

The two are believed to know one another and there were no injuries to anyone else.

The teenager is facing several charges.
